Terms & Conditions

Trousseaux agree to sell, reserve or order on your behalf items listed overleaf on the following terms and conditions.

1. Payment of Order

  • An initial payment of 50% is payable before an order can be accepted and passed to the supplier. Payment of the initial payment shall be conclusive evidence of the acceptance by the Purchaser of the terms and conditions
  • If an initial payment is paid over the telephone, this will be deemed as an acceptance of our Term and Conditions of Trade, a copy of which will be supplied on request
  • Full payment of accessories is payable before an order can be accepted and passed to the supplier
  • The balance of the price is payable within 14 days of intimation to the customer of receipt of the garment from the supplier. In the event of payment by cheque or BACS, no goods can be removed from our premises until it has been cleared through our bank
  • If payment is not made within the 14-day period, then interest will be due on any unpaid balance at 4% above Bank of England base lending rate until balance is paid
  • Trousseaux Bridal will give an approximate date of delivery and cannot be held responsible for delivery times of suppliers including delays
  • Any claims are limited to the cost of the goods provided. Any claims for alterations will need to be taken up with the seamstress used

2. Cancellation of Order

  • No cancellation of this contract is accepted after the initial payment/payment is made unless the supplier is unable to deliver the garment for the occasion date in which case a full refund will be payable to the customer in full and final settlement of all sums due. Under no circumstances are initial payments refundable or transferable
  • No initial payments will be refunded if the customer has agreed to a delay in ordering the dress for any reason. Measurements are taken at time of initial payment being paid
  • Orders will still have to be paid for in full, if the wedding is cancelled for whatever reason, costs will still be incurred to the suppliers and to Trousseaux Bridal – regardless of any circumstance. Dresses will still need to be collected within 14 days from arrival in the studio
  • No exchanges on goods purchased will be given unless the incorrect dress has been ordered and/or received or there is a fault with the dress
  • For hygiene reasons, all accessories (including hair accessories and shoes), which have been removed from the premises once paid for, cannot be refunded or exchanged

3. Sale, Special Offer, Discounted Stock

  • These items are either ex showroom stock or discontinued styles and are NOT SOLD AS PERFECT
  • You are required to check the sample/discontinued dress as Trousseaux Bridal staff will have already examined the dress for any defects
  • Sale goods must be paid for in full and removed from the premises
  • Dry cleaning and alterations are undertaken at additional costs
  • Sales goods cannot be returned or any monies refunded. Dresses are sold as seen

4. Fittings and Alterations

  • Dresses will be ordered according to the customer’s measurements in relation to the supplier’s size chart. Dresses are ordered to a standard size and are not made to measure
  • Trousseaux Bridal cannot be held responsible for the inaccuracy of supplied measurements if Trousseaux Bridal staff have not measured the customer
  • After the date of order, Trousseaux Bridal cannot accept responsibility for any changes which may occur to the customer’s body shape, size or height
  • Special measurements, lengths and size 18 plus (where available) may incur an additional charge carried forward from the supplier to the customer
  • No alteration will be made to any garment prior to the full purchase price being paid
  • Alteration costs are in addition to the price of the garment and are required to be paid for in full, to your independent seamstress, prior to collection of the garment
  • You are free to have any alterations or amendments conducted by the seamstress of your choice. Trousseaux Bridal does not employ and is not responsible or liable for the work of your chosen seamstress. In the event that any alterations undertaken are unsatisfactory, this is a contractual matter between you and your seamstress

5. Fabrics

  • Whilst every effort is made by the supplier to match fabrics, we cannot guarantee designs on trims, nor the exact shade or texture of a fabric
  • Silk is a natural fabric and the weaving of the fabric may therefore contain minor variations and irregularities that are characteristic of fine silk yarn. These should in no way be considered as defective nor should Trousseaux Bridal be held at fault
  • Heavily laced and/or beaded garments may have some lose threads that are indicative of the lace and beading
  • Gowns are delicate and occasionally beads, buttons and hooks can come loose. Trousseaux Bridal cannot be held responsible if this happens

6. Collection of Goods

  • The customer is requested to collect goods within 14 days after notification of delivery. Dresses will be steamed ready for the appointment and any outstanding monies will need to be paid prior to the dress being taken from Trousseaux Bridal premises.  Notice must be given prior to arrival at the premises to inspect or collect the goods
  • If dresses are not collected within 14 days after notification of dress arrival, a storage charge of £50 per month will be levied to cover the cost of storage and insurance
  • Upon collection of a wedding gown, the customer is advised to store it in a room out of direct sunlight and in a constant temperature
  • If goods are not collected by the customer within 2 months of email notification, then these goods will be returned to stock for re-sale and all monies pertaining will be forfeited
  • Once the goods are in the care of the customer, Trousseaux Bridal will accept no responsibility if any faults or problems occur
  • All goods are to be inspected prior to leaving Trousseaux Bridal premises. No responsibility will be accepted by Trousseaux Bridal once goods are in the care of the customer. Customers will sign a Collection Form advising them of this and care instructions

7.  Repair or Replacement

  • If there is a breach of contract, the customer will be entitled in the first instance to claim a repair or replacement
  • Where a repair or replacement is claimed, Trousseaux Bridal will do this at no cost to the customer within a reasonable time and without causing significant inconvenience
  • The customer cannot choose one of these options above the other. Also, once the customer has chosen the option, they must give Trousseaux Bridal reasonable time to provide the solution

8.  Liability

  • Should the store breach its obligations under this agreement, its liability is limited to any direct loss incurred by the customer arising from such breach, limited to the cost of the goods purchased through Trousseaux Bridal
  • The store will NOT be liable for any breaches caused by circumstances outside Trousseaux Bridals control, including, but not restricted to acts of God, war, riot, terrorism, malicious damage, fire, flood or storm and national and global epidemics. This includes arrival of dresses
